The end of the world as people don’t know it….

I am listening to yet ANOTHER crticisim of the whole 2012 “end of the world” issue. 

I think this is one of the most frustrating subjects out there. I listen to people talk about subjects and they frame them in such a way that they leave out  more profound esoteric understanding of it.

I realise that many folks hate Daniel Pinchbeck because they view him as yet another fly by night, opportunistic writer capitalizing on the 2012 phenomena… sigh..

But it was Daniel Pinchbeck that actually got me thinking about what the Apocalypse really is  and how this IS a time of some profound change and a time of potential evolutionary mindshifts.   Yet, now everyone just scoffs at 2012 predictions and while I agree it is seriously unfortunate that the 2012 “meme” got dissected down into a “end of the world” disaster scenario that is not the end off of the discussion in my view.

I think that this issue goes deeper, in fact it MUST go deeper.  This issue I believe is at the crux of a very profound world view issue for humanity.  How do we evolve?

One of the greatest things Daniel Pinchbeck explained was that the Apocalypse means “lifting of the veil”.  It comes from the Greek. 

It amazes me that so many “new agers” have actually ended up just dismissing the entire issue or they don’t understand it from a deeper context.  It actually doesn’t even have to hinge on the 2012 year exactly..

There are two camps (there are probably more but for now I will leave it to two).

The skeptics and the true believers and these two groups do not get it right.

The skeptics dismiss out of hand any “end of the world scenario”.  They scoff and mock and dilute the issue and refuse to even have a more esoteric  view or a deeper view of the issue because, well, they are skeptics.

The True Beleivers are ones that seriously are looking at the date and everyting surrounding it as LITERALLY true or relatively true.  They too dilute the eschatology down to sound bites and miss larger points that actually involve free will .

This latest interviewer I have heard is a skeptic.  He mentions only 2 people who perpetuated the 2012 meme.. Terrance McKenna and Arguelles.  Yet in my view these two people are very different.  Terrence McKenna was a deep thinker.. a entheogenic mystic philosopher.   HIs contribution came from his  computer program TIME WAVE ZERO and a view of “novelty” events.. Arquelles was more of a psuedo historian/newage guru .. who advanced an eschatology based on his views.  There are many others who have weighed in.. JOhn Major Jenkins and others….

Daniel Pinchbeck was more of the Terrance McKenna camp and many don’t like him because they just think he is a former cocktail sipping turned ayauaska drinking New York writer who is just as I said.. capitalizing on the 2012 meme.

Yet, what I have witnessed over the years with the 2012 stuff is that people either want to BELIEVE in something definate OR are generally skeptical and cannot handle deep philosophical discussions that have no real answer but maybe advance humanities mind by contemplation .  HUmans are EXTREMELY uncomfortable with any idea that is vague or could shift and change.. knowledge and information MUST have #Facts and must be testable … if not.. it is not valid.  But Philosophy is well.. philosophy.  It is the excercize of the mind.  To explore our psyches, examine the humand condition, the past and the future of how we think, how we frame our reality.  Philosphy majors are ridiculed and spit upon as being useless.  We now listen to TvPundits, reality TV stars and advertising messages to tell us truths about ourselves.. and unfortunately that has an end goal of making money … so if something isn’t profitable.. then throw it out!  We don’t need it and if we can’t control it or the masses then it is bad …

one personal opinion about “Natural Law”

I will say that I do appreaciate Mark Passios treatment of this subject as while he is ok with the word GOD.. he doesn’t declare that Natural Law has anything to do with Christianity or “GOD” per se

that Natural Law are merely INHERANT Laws.. .. things that are within COMMONS SENSE

Such as murder being bad

stealing being bad

harming another person.. being bad.

These should be inherant understandings.  Not because a GOD told you but because.. they are just bad.

Granted.. I would suspect that MOST humans will find an excuse to violate any one of them.. even myself ..  such as defence.. I am “Pro Choice” (because I beleive the individual must make that decision)..

Stealing bad.. but is stealing a loaf of bread to feed your family bad?..

Murder bad.. but is killing someone in self defense bad?

so.. yes.. some would say that is moral relativism.. A term I generally dislike becuase it is so used by the REligious Right..

but Natural Law.. in MY view is NOT CHRISTIAN. Christianity is merely another mind control cult.. or it has become one.  There are certain sects that certainly are better than others.. as with any religion.  Although Buddhism far surpasses Christianity in obeying Natural Law principals and I identify with Buddhism far more.

Christianity has a bunch of stupid erroneous LAWS that have NOTHING to do with Natural Law principals.  the 10 Commandments include ridiculous items such as not worshiping graven images etc.. obeying the Sabbath. blah blah..  Judaism has laws against eating pork (or non kosher foods) and Muslims can’t eat pork or drink either.. and there are laws against all sorts of stupid things.. so.. Christianity should NOT have any right to somehow declare that they alone are the righteous morality holders.. as I believe that ATHEISTS can be moral and adhere to Natural Law principals.. for they know that stealing is wrong . 

(One of the great “debates” is if an Atheist sees a 100 dollar bill on the ground and knows who dropped it would they return it vs a Christian.. ).  That is ridiculous as the christian claims that becuase they believe in GOD they would do the right thing (usally in fear of going to Hell) but the Atheist.. who has no such fear of Hell would return it becuase it was the RIGHT THING TO DO!.. ).. so Christians generally only follow rules because they exist in FEAR of NOT doing the right thing.. vs an Athiest who doesn’t believe in a hell and knows right from wrong anyway!.

More on Personal soveriegnty

I am still “struggling” with concepts regarding Natural Law and Personal Soveriegnty

In one manner I accept and understand the principals

on the other hand, I don’t feel they can’t work, at least not at the level of consciousness we have now.

I also dislike the fact that  I am sounding like a frelling Libertarian.

I know that it is popular in conservative circles to tell everyone to “take personal responsibility for your actions” … nice sentiment. HOWEVER not everyone does that.. do they ?

If you point the finger at a poor person or someone suffering and tell them that they “should have worked harder or taken more personal responsbility”  and you don’t know what circumstances led them to that position, it isn’t really a compassionate position.  I think it is a co-op to just declare that “everyone should take personal responsibility’ and work harder” and feel that you have made your belief known and you can all feel self righteous about the matter and go about thinking that You yourself are 100% in a level of personal soveriegnty.

Fact is.. there are so many variables, so much work that has to be undone, so much more work that has to BE done.. to help our entire world shift to a more equitable society.

I am not exactly saying “redistributtion’ as is commonly understood.. The Right likes to accuse the left of “socialisM’ or accuse them of being “commies”. yet we never get to the real discussion and very REAL issue of income disparity, and the issues pressing our economic system and environment.  

Basically EVERYONE .. rich, poor, middle class is going to have to do some homework!.  We all need to turn OFF the boob tube.. wake up from the LIES that have been fed us.. understand the world around is, education ourselves better. Understand the Trivium, the meaning of words.. history, break apart the propaganda etc.. and really dig in and find truths. 

Truth is.. most will NOT do any of this.  They have too much invested in how they believe about the world.  If you are rich.. you don’t want to even contemplate that you really might be a complete dickwad and all your wealth was created off the backs of slaves or through unethical means.

If you are poor.. you might actually have to (if this is the  case) of being a “victim” get off the crack.. .. quit having babies .. and quit eating junk and pretending that someday you will win American Idol and be rich and famous. (Not that every poor person is that bad.. cause they are not.. I am just pulling out an extreme stereotype to prove a point).

 

and if you are middle class.. again.. quit injesting junk and lies about the world..

But see.. we wouldn’t want to actually have to stop anything that we currently enjoy doing if we even found out that it was harming somone or something else.  We couldn’t be that brutally honest about that. .After all.. we deserve whatever we want.. right?

Hey.. I am guilty of this too!.   

I just don’t know if humanity will even progress an inch.
and I am so fed up at this point.

I fear that the Occupy protests will collase and the people will go back to the polls and the Republican will get back into office cause folks think that the problems are the Democrats and back and forth we go AGAIN…

instead of STOPPING the machine ENTIRELY.. QUESTIONING the ENTIRE thing.. and reframing the question from “what is the GDP for the day”.. to.. why the fuck do we even measure GDP the way we do and why?????

What consumer products do we actually really need and if they are harming us and the planet.. can we stop and create something else that doesn?

I don’t think humanity is smart enough to ask such deeper questions.  Half of of the planet is fundamentally illiterate anyway!…

I pose a challenge to everyone.. Study the Trivium… and go back and get a better education that can help you to think about these questions a bit better!

Bank Transfer Day

For a few years now I have wanted to transfer my $$ to a Credit Union.  However, due to personal circumstances there never has been a good time.  AND NOW is the worst time of all.

I am currently in the middle of a move and I can’t handle dealing with yet ONE MORE PIECE OF CHANGE in my life.

All I can say.. I hope that I don’t end up getting screwed by a bank collapse… and this is what I am talking about as to why I am incredibly stressed… The world is shifting and changing at light speed and I can’t keep up.

OH well. I guess I will have to leave it to the FATES eh.?

Sovereignty

I am struggling with some deeper concepts Mark Passio is discussing.

It is in relation to the Occupy Protests in this county. 

These protests are being framed in all sorts of ways. I personally understand what they are trying to do, yet many on the outside see them as disgruntled young folks who want a hand out.

I hate when the argument gets boiled down to simplistic narrow focused sound bites.  I couldn’t attend the protests this past weekend due to my personal life so all I can do is watch helplessly from the sidelines and talk into the void .. because no one is listening to me and will never listen to me.

I wanted to go down and hand out information regarding the Transition Town movement as a solution to some of the ills that plague our society.  I think that protesting to bring awareness is great.. but if you don’t have actual alternative solutions or other alternative knowledge then you go nowhere and folks just spin their wheels and only get their ya ya’s out.  Wall street isn’t afraid of these protests.  They have the situation under control.  What would REALLY threaten them is if everyone who DID have a bank account removed their money from said banks.  No one will do that of course.. and folks will still use the establishment. 

I sound like a “right-winger” but I am not putting that idea out there in the form of a logical fallacy but rather to get folks thinking about real SOLUTIONS and what we DO need to be doing other than just waving a sign about taxing the Rich.  (Which is an important issue regarding how we want our society structured).

The Transition Town movement has been a movement to attempt to help folks shift away from dependency on these huge institutions and banks and corporations and Back to LOCAL control over resources and even governance.  Transition town has provided alternatives to support independent smaller businesses compete against Large corporations (BALLE: business alliance for local living economies). and alternatives to dependency on Big oil and gas (via restructuring and redesigning communities so they are more walkable or alternative transportation friendly.  Away from corporate agribusiness by focusing on locally grown and raised and produced food etc.  It is about real solutions to help redevelop humanity back into our communities.

Right now, we are pretty much faceless strangers anymore.  We don’t have the understanding of many things and everything is chaotic and fast paced and we do not feel we have control over our own lives and we live day-to-day in a FEAR based paradigm.  THIS MUST CHANGE.

But unless one has real solutions and works on those solutions and makes a committment to making these solutions work. .AND not forgetting the deeper concepts of personal sovereignty and awareness then these solutions will fall to the wayside and be forgotten and the PTB will laugh and treat us all like wayward children.. lost in our youthful rebellion and yet at the end of the day we come home to the abusive parent because we need a warm meal in our bellies and a roof over our head.

 

Etymology and understanding history!

I am getting into Etymology.  

Etymology is the study of the history of words, their origins, and how their form and meaning have changed over time.

I believe it is really important to understand language and the meaning behind words, the history behind the words we use and understand how their meanings have been shifted and manipulated.

I had a profound consciousness shift when I discovered the original meaning of the  word APOCALYPSE.

For many APOCALYPSE connotes “catastrophe”  “cataclysm” “chaos” “end of the world”.  However, the original meaning of the word is from the GREEK and it means merely “lifting of the veil”

Now, whenever I heard that word being thrown around to imply the “end of the world”, I cringe.  That word now has been relegated as a fear based word instead of an empowering word.   

Think about how you might feel if you now hear

“THE APOCALYPSE IS UPON US”

  ”oh my gods.. there is going to be death and war and destruction and the ‘end of the world!!!” ??? 

VS:

 “WOW, look around and see all the secrets and corruptions and occulted knowledge that has been kept from humanity.. it is now being unveiled..”

One is FEAR based and one is about potential and empowerment.

What state of mind would YOU rather be in?

Another word that tends to get misused a lot is LIBERAL

 Liberalism (from the Latin liberalis, “of freedom”)^[1] is the belief in the importance of liberty and equal rights.^[2] Liberals espouse a wide array of views depending on their understanding of these principles, but most liberals support such fundamental ideas as constitutionalism, liberal democracy, free and fair elections, human rights, capitalism, free trade, and the freedom of religion.^{[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liberalism}

Yet, from a certain sector of the population LIBERAL connotes something FAR different.  Take these quotes from a well-known pundit RUSH LIMBAUGH

“Liberalism is an ideology built on lies.”

Liberalism seeks to deceive as many people as possible.”

“Liberal Democrats are inexorably opposed to tax cuts, because tax cuts give people more power, and take away from the role of government.”

and these other quotes:

“Liberalism is totalitarianism with a human face.” -Thomas Sowell

 “Liberals become indignant when you question their patriotism, but simultaneously work overtime to give terrorists a cushion for the next attack and laugh at dumb Americans who love their country and hate the enemy.”- Ann Coulter

how did that shift happen and more importantly … WHY?

How did the word LIBERAL become conflated with the word TOTALITARIANISM?.  

Yes, the people quoted above may not deserve much respect YET they unfortunately have had a bit too much power in spreading false rhetoric and therefore one must be cautious about dismissing their “power” off-hand.

The most important and indeed the most powerful thing any one can do to start the journey of awakening is to do their homework!  Turn OFF the TV  and the mainstream press and study history. Study the origins of words, of movements.  

ANOTHER example

People generally hate UNIONS today and believe that they are just an organization that has created a lazy and overpaid “entitled” workforce.  Furthermore they believe that UNIONS have driven jobs out of this country etc.

However, folks completely forget WHY unions came about in the first place and WHY they were so important and how Unions are responsible for many of the GOOD things we take for granted.  (Minimum wage, benefits, pensions, safe working environments, 40 hour work week etc).   People need to do their homework and remember what Unions did for us. Sure, today’s UNIONS are  not perhaps living up to the standards we would like to have to-day. Perhaps some are corrupt, overbearing and perhaps need to shift their focus to meet the needs of current times.  But don’t throw the baby out with the bath water!

I could go on and on but I just beseech you to DO YOUR HOMEWORK!.  Study history and the history of words.  Look at both sides of an issue and use your critical thinking skills and understand THE TRIVIUM!.

That is what a RESPONSIBLE citizen does!

mythologies and transitions

I discovered an interesting podcast today.  THE VISIONARY ACTIVIST.

The Trickster rambling energy of this woman on this podcast sounded odd but familiar at times. Lots of grunts and strange noises as she wound through her tales.  I identify with not being  able to communicate in a coherant language.. I talk with my hands alot… and I ramble and shift.  Folks are usually lost and confused yet some have said they enjoy my energy.

I have been pushing hard on the Left logical side of my mind.. to construct a more solid framework that presents my ideas and thoughts in a more coherent fashion.  But while I that logical side must be nurtured.. I must not forget my creative more emotional side.  That side communicates not always with words.. but with images… either from my hands, or sound from my lips.

I pushed my move date back a week. I have been really pushing hard for this move. I closed on our house in feb and all summer long we have been working and I have been patience and I have been pushing and anxious .. feeling as though I am in a vice or going through  well.. a birth canal.  Or perhaps a prettier analogy is crushing pressure turning coal into a diamond?.

So, I will anticipate how this process manifests itself.  I am excited about being able to let go of my control and just create again.

 

 

Shifts and transitions

Perhaps it is a matter of perception but I sense that for many right now things are a bit “stressful”.

There has been a lot of tumultuous change and shifts occurring at a very rapid pace.  This has been commented on as well as refuted in many circles.  Perhaps our stress is self-imposed and that we can just “choose” not to be stressed.  I wish that were the case.

While how we “choose” to live on this earth and how we “choose” to live our lives is ultimately up to us, there ARE times when life throws you repeated curve balls and ongoing “grown up stresses” can break a persons resolve.

I am not going to be a “fluffy” individual and just tell folks that is JUST a “choice” so get over it and “choose” to be happy.  I think most of us do “choose” to be happy but that when an earthquake hits your city, the food runs out,   taxes are due, one can not merely just “walk away”.  Sure, I suppose there is a level of “grace” on how one deals with these things, but there is trauma as well and the soul definitely needs to heal and be tended to.  PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) is real.  We all want to be strong, stoic people.  We want to put on a smile and “laugh” at life’ s adversities and some indeed do this quite well but for some, it is not so easy.

It is important to slow down our lives, put up that STOP sign and take back as much control as we can.  Yes, there is a level where we have NO control and we have to come to terms with what we do NOT have control over… the Serenity Prayer comes to mind:

“God,” grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
Courage to change the things I can,
And wisdom to know the difference.

I believe it is essential to know what we have control over and what we don’t.  Many times we allow ourselves to just get steamrolled thinking that we are merely “going with the flow”.

Resisting certain changes can cause us great pain and suffering, but we should definitely know what changes inevitable and what changes are being imposed irrationally.

For instance,  my bank recently changed the way it does bill pay.  I had a system down where I was on top of all my bills and I understood what had to be done and it worked. But the bank had other ideas and for whatever reason that system didn’t work for THEM.  So they changed it.  This caused great confusion and stress for many customers (So I heard from a teller).  Yet they claimed this change had to be done.  Now, they were doing it for their benefit, not for their customers benefit.

There are many structures in our society that arbitrarily change things because these structures want either more money, or are trying to save themselves money or some other situation that benefits them.  They change things and do make things very difficult for their customers.  They will try to sell their customers on these “Changes” but in the end, these changes are more about benefit to them than their customers.

Another example: I walked into a big box  drug store about 10 years ago to buy some small item.  However, the floor plan of this drug store was arranged in such a way that I was literally FORCED to the back of the store and forced to follow the aisles like a maze.  The item I wanted was at the front near the cash registers but I couldn’t get to that area without having to wind my way through the store.  I was very irritated because it was obvious what they were doing.. they wanted me IN the store for a longer period of time so I would buy more stuff.  I was in a hurry and I didn’t have time for this nonsense.  They eventually DID change the store layout, but the reason I bring this up is to illustrate that there ARE things that are done to try to force you to do something the structure wants you to do… not what YOU want to do.  As with change, is this inevitable change? Or is it something that is man-made ?

I wrote about NATURAL LAW in earlier posts.  The reason why understanding NATURAL LAW and to work to be a more “conscious” human being is to help us to see what is within our control and what isn’t within our control and to better navigate the world we live in so we CAN make CONSCIOUS choices about how we want to live rather than accept from false choices that are imposed upon us.

I know some believe this is far too complicated and again one should just merely be able to ‘choose” to be happy and just “go with the flow”.  “Don’t rock the boat”.  Sure, I suppose if we never “rocked the boat” and just went along  with the “flow” that is before us we would be happy, maybe. But while we may not have any control over an earthquake, we should have control over what food we eat, what products we choose to buy, how we choose to live our lives.

Sometimes those choices run opposite from the “flow” that others try to impose in our society and this can cause great stress and anxiety.  So we must be able to treat ourselves kindly and realize it is OK to say NO and it is OK to take care of ourselves and it is OK to go in the opposite direction.

but we all need to take care of our souls.

Proselytizing

Proselytizing (verb proselytize is pronounced as ˈprɒsələtaɪz ) is the act of attempting to convert people to another opinion and, particularly, another religion.

Being a pagan I have pretty much found the act of Proselytizing distasteful.   As a Liberal, I generally “pride” myself on trying to be tolerant of other opinions than my own and generally have a “live and let live” attitude.   However, I have been accused by some to be pretty “opinionated” and Proselytizing towards others.  I do tend to speak my mind and indeed have fairly formed opinions. However, I do believe that I attempt to be thoughtful and correct myself when I am wrong.

I went to a college during the height of what is known as the POLITICALLY CORRECT (PC) movement.  (I won’t tell you which College that was.. I will let you guess).    The Definition of POLITICALLY CORRECT is (from Wikipedia)

 Political correctness (adjectivally, politically correct; both forms commonly abbreviated to PC) is a term which denotes language, ideas, policies, and behavior seen as seeking to minimize social and institutional offense in occupational, gender, racial, cultural, sexual orientation, certain other religions, beliefs or ideologies, disability, and age-related contexts, and, as purported by the term, doing so to an excessive extent.

Generally, I find that it is a GOOD thing to be aware of our language and attitudes toward other cultures and people.  There is a tendency in our culture (and I am at times guilty of this as well) to speak without any consciousness of what we are saying or doing.   The PC movement was an attempt to rebalance that and help us be more aware of our language and actions.  NOW, as with MOST movements they do tend to get a bit overzealous and indeed the PC movement did indeed get a bit over the top with some of their actions.

I remember at this College I attended it was considered POLITICALLY INCORRECT to use the word GIRL to refer in any way shape or form a “WOMAN”  (also spelled the PC way of WOMYN… to remove any instance of the patriarchal word MAN in the word)…   GIRL was considered to denigrating to WOMYN and a means of lowering the status of womYn… All in all.. it was (IN MY opinion) kind of ridiculous.

ANYWAY, back to the point of Proselytizing,  there are religious groups, namely Fundamentalist Christians who believe STRONGLY (and that is a major understatement) in Proselytizing .   Whether it is Mormons or Jehovah’s Witnesses to Baptists to whatever other Fundamentalist sect they Love to talk about JESUS… and tell you how much you are going to HELL if you don’t convert and cleanse your sins.  etc etc. etc…

Obviously this is all a bunch of brainwashing. I know that sounds harsh, but here I am getting to my point.

I know that there are many very fine and wonderful  Christians out there who do awesome things.. are probably finer humans than I even.. They do charity work 24/7 and live their lives morally and upstanding.  Great.. I have NO qualms with them.  If that is what they have found and they live according to their values then GREAT!.   (and many do not feel the need to preach to others)…

However,  there are still far too many who are unawake and just preach to preach.  We know who they are… the Rick Perry’s the Sarah Palins, the Michelle Bachmans, the Jerry Falwells, the Jimmy Swaggerts, on and on and on…  Their full-time agenda is to promote the story of Christianity.. but not just the Christ aspect.. but the mythology and more so.. a mythology about this country and the world. …

Their version of Christianity is dark.  Oh, they may at times present it as wonderful, but overall it is dark.

One great example of this is the Westboro Babtist Church with Rev Fred Phelps.  This is the “God hates Fags” church that travels around and protests at soldiers funerals and any other notable person they feel represents the evilness of this country (due to the tolerance of homosexuality) Now, for many of us we just either get angry or dismissive and ignore them.  Yet, they are a very visible representation of a dark mind controlled side of Christianity.  Why they exist and are doing what they are doing is literally beyond me.  I have had my own “theories” that maybe they are somehow “plants” that are manipulating the social fabric of this society for whatever reason.. cause honestly.. I just can’t get it.

I know that many of the people I know just tell me “just ignore them and they will all go away”.  But while I understand they have a point.. part of me feels a nagging issue.  How long can we ignore messages such as this?

Yes, we set the best example by living to our values and to good deeds and actions.  Kindness to others, truthfulness in our words and actions, etc..  I will be the first to admit that I am definitely NOT a saint.  “Jesus” is a figure that allegorically represents those pure good qualities.  The CHRIST “Consciousness” means the level of consciousness where we are LIGHT where we are aware and live according to positive values and “natural law” principles.  YET, we are all on a journey.  We are not stagnant pure “enlightened” beings.  We all have different journeys’ that are hopefully going to bring us to a better state of consciousness.  Some choose meditation, some choose Christianity, some choose Judaism.. whatever..  and that is fine.

However, I feel deep in my being that it is important to have mature conversations about some truths that have for far too long been occulted from humanity.  These occulted truths have only served to keep the vast majority of humanity dumbed down and ignorant and we can see where that has led us.

WARS, ENVIRONMENTAL DEGRADATION, GREED, CORRUPTION etc… You would think that we are more awake than we would have been 2,000 years ago.. but sadly I do not believe this is the case.  I believe that while some have risen to a higher state of consciousness.. most have stayed dumb.

I know a lot of NEW AGE Folks believe that humanity IS more awakened than in any time of history.. I honestly don’t know about that.  I just see far too much repetition of the same mistakes over and over.. the same base consciousness of behavior that we have seen TIME and TIME again.. YOu can deny it but it is right in front of you.

Some just believe “don’t worry about them.. just work on yourself” and yes.. again.. that is ESSENTIAL.. but I truly TRULY believe it is also VITAL to start having these conversations and start sharing these “truths” .. these ideas and memes and instead of just living and let living.. we need to start playing a bit more on the “tough love” side.   This is just my opinion..

I feel the Internet  has been  very corrupted. Instead of a vehicle  for understanding and awareness.. I see it as one big minefield.. designed to trap the unsuspecting back into the traps of unconscious behavior. You dont’ know what or who to believe.. there are temptations around every corner.   And  I am but one voice in a dark wilderness.

I have been criticised for speaking too much… posting too much… being too “Opinionated” .. of “being to forceful”.. I have been driven off internet groups because I kept posting too much “political things” ..

People I think just want to be asleep.  But, I feel it is important to have conversations about this.

Mark Passio talks extensively about “mind control” techniques.   From Drugs, food, media, religion, etc…   I think there is one technique that has crept into our society and that is the “don’t talk about this stuff” shame…

It comes in the form of logical fallacies  “You are not perfect, therefore you have no right to speak about such things.. you are a hypocrite”.  I think this is a HUGE mind control tactic designed to  shame us all into being silent.   I think we need to get OUT of that mindset.  Yes, we should ALL strive to live better lives.. and to NOT engage in outright hypocrisy.  But discussing about consciousness and ideas related to that and working on our selves is far different from the Self Righteous attitudes of many Fundamentalists who say homosexuality is a sin and then get caught in a homosexual situation…

If you can’t see the difference between those two ways of living and being then I don’t know what more I can say.    I have to continue to speak even if my voice shakes.. and yes, I will continue to work on myself.. but for those who accuse me of Proselytizing don’t know me very well.   I think honestly they should look a bit more closely at what I am saying and perhaps a bit more closely at their own issues and triggers.

I was encouraged to write this blog (partially from my own needs as well) because I tend to post a LOT of stuff. I was over on FB and I think I drove away every single “friend” on there.   Currently, I don’t believe anyone reads this blog. I have shared it with a few people.. but they havent’ commented and I doubt they ever will .. perhaps these words will just be floating out in the black hole of the Internet .. and so is that really Proselytizing ?..   I would hope that folks would converse and even “debate” these ideas… for I strongly believe that is how we mature and evolve. We learn much by debate and exchange of ideas.. WE can’t just STOP and say “ok. .I know all I need to know. I am a smart person and I don’t need to spend anymore time learning this or that.. or I already KNOW those things so why talk about them anymore.. I have other things to do”.. Ok. Fine.. then this blog is not for you.

But It is my wish that I hope others would reach out and like to converse.. But maybe that will never be…

Mythology and Consciousness

I was raised a Christian.  I was baptized in the Episcopalian Church and later went on to attend a Catholic High-school.   However, during my senior year of HS I began my path of Paganism, Witchcraft, specifically.   That journey that began about 25 years ago has led me down a long path and to where I am today in my consciousness.

Some of the turns I took are pretty laughable in retrospect.  I had to I guess keep peeling back the layers upon layers of BS and crap and fluffiness until I really started to “awaken” and really start to understand what this is all about.  I feel like my spiritual journey has helped me see more truths.  I had to persevere and my journey is nowhere near accomplished.

I am listening to episode 39 on WHAT ON EARTH IS HAPPENING which is dealing with the Winter Solstice Dec 21.  (Or Dec 25.. aka “CHRIST MASS”) .  The Christmas season is about the “son of GOD, being reborn/born into the world to bring “light” etc… .. BUT that is merely an allegorical story about the actual SUN being “reborn” after the darkest time of the year.

Astro-theology is pretty fascinating to study and it helps folks understand more about Christianity as well as many other religions.  When I was early on in my Pagan/Witchcraft path I started delving into the astro-theology aspects.. instead of Christmas I celebrated YULE… etc.. celebrated the Equinoxes and the Solstices (just learned today that SOLSTICE means SUN STILL… indicating that the SUN is STILL “dead” in the sky for 3 days… SUN STILL SOL STICE… .. again.. another important understanding about language and words and the origins thereof).  Yet looking back at that i realize that many Pagans .. while doing a bit better at least from unhooking from the CHRISTMAS myth (which isn’t all bad if you look at it as an allegory rather than literal truth).. but I fear that many Witches and Pagans stop and merely try and recreate their own mythologies but never really get the TRUTH deeper esoteric mysteries that really unlock our consciousness.

Mark Passio talked about how we are currently in the DARKEST TIME OF THE YEAR In terms of our civilization… and we are.. aren’t we?  .. and my thoughts jumped to the significance of the Mayan 2012 DEC 21 calendar “end of the cycle” event.  If we reflect on the significance of what all that ALLEGORICALLY represents that could be a MAJOR catalyst for change in our consciousness.   But we have to wake up a LOT more people if we are going to truth see that shift happen.  Perhaps… that date won’t see an instantaneous “awakening”.. but rather a reflection on the darkest night of our “Year” (the larger COSMIC Year) and the return of the LIGHT to our dark world.. This doesn’t in any way literally indicate the Christian version of “Jesus” is coming but perhaps the ALLEGORICAL “Christ” energy that will awaken humankind and we will see an eventual betterment of human civilization… I would like to see THAT meme spread around in an intelligent and thoughtful way ….
